MIDDLE SCHOOL AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM
Tuesdays & Thursdays 2:15-4:00
p.m. at LYSB
First day is
Tuesday, September 9th.
This drop in program is free but a
permission slip is required. Come hang out with your friends while
listening to music, playing pool, games, PS2, crafts & snacks.
Students will get a pass for the LOLMS late bus. Call Missy Colburn, LYSB

3rd, 4th and 5th
Grade Afterschool program
Every Wednesday 3-5. Advance registration required.
First day is Wednesday, September
10th. Fee: $100/year
Come to the LYSB Etherington Activity Center to
hang out with your friends and participate in a variety of arts and crafts
projects as well as play basketball, pool, PS2, and much more!
Snacks and refreshments are provided. This program fills up fast, so please

Kids Care Club
1st
Monday of every month, 3:00-5:00 p.m.
Kids Care Clubs are groups of young people who work
together to help others in their communities and around the world. Through
hands on projects, members have helped the elderly, hungry, homeless, disabled,
sick, and victims of disasters. Come to a meeting to see how you can help
out the community, while having fun! For elementary schools students.

Madhatters Theatre Company
LYSB is pleased to host the Madhatters Theatre Company, now bringing their
popular drama programs to Old Lyme.
Creative Drama Workshops
Fridays from 3-4 p.m at LYSB
9 weeks from September 19th
to November 21st (no class on 10/10). Fee of $120. Students
will create their own play based on a theme including the story and characters.
The play will be performed on stage at Andrews Memorial Theater in Clinton on
November 21. Dress rehearsal on November 20th. Call Madhatters to

Winter Wonderland 2008
Now registering for the
Madhatters Theatre Company winter production of Winter Wonderland 2008. This
popular winter celebration of stories, songs, and dance will be performed at the
Ivoryton Playhouse in December. All rehearsals will be at LYSB on Saturday
mornings starting on October 18th. For registration information

Sitter/Safety Course
Five Mondays: October 20, 27,
November 10, 17 & 24 from 2:10-4:00 p.m.
For grades 6 and up. This is
an intensive sitter safety training course that is appropriate for babysitters,
big brothers and sisters, and children staying at home alone for the first
time. This course will cover a variety of topics including basic first aid,
fire safety, 911 skills. Fee is $40.00.

Surviving your Adolescents:
How to Manage and Let Go of your
13-18 Year Olds

take charge. This workshop will give parents a step-by-step approach that will

Mother/Daughter Workshop: Let's start
talking!

This program can be scheduled for private groups
(girl scouts, etc.)
Open the lines of communication with your daughter!
Designed to give girls a better understanding of the changes that her body will
go through during puberty. Topics will include the importance of a
positive body image and how to deal with difficult situations. A fun and
educational night out for girls in 5th grade and their mothers. Cost is
$40 per pair and includes resource materials, goodie bags and a pizza dinner. Patty

Guy’s Night Out: Time for a Change

For boys in 5th and 6th
grade with their fathers. Start talking about the changes boys will face
during puberty. Physical, social and emotional topics will be discussed through
interactive games and workshops. Cost is $30 per pair and includes resource
materials and a pizza dinner. Space is limited so please call to register in
advance at 434-7208. The class will be held at LYSB’s Etherington Activity
Center.
