A Message About Internet Safety & Kids
MIDDLE SCHOOL AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM Tuesdays & Thursdays 2:15-4:00 p.m. at LYSB. First day is September 6th. This drop in program is free but a permission slip is required. Come hang out with your friends while listening to music, playing pool, games, PS2, crafts & snacks. Students will get a pass for the LOLMS late bus. 3rd, 4th and 5th Grade Afterschool program Every Wednesday 3-5. starting September 14th. Advance registration required. Fee: $100/year Come to the LYSB Etherington Activity Center to hang out with your friends and participate in a variety of arts and crafts projects as well as play basketball, airhockey, pool, Wii, and much more! Snacks and refreshments are provided. This program fills up fast, so please contact LYSB @ 434-7208 to register. Students from Center School will walk over with LYSB staff. Sewing Workshops If you've always wanted to learn how to sew on a sewing machine join your friends at LYSB . Have fun and learn something new! Ages 8 and up. No experience necessary. Sewing machines provided. Class is taught by arts educator Claudia Mathison. Class limit is ten. Pre-register by calling LYSB at 434-7208 x0.
FEBRUARY SESSION:
4 Thursdays, Feb 2, 9, 16 & 23 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Learn the basics of machine sewing while designing accessories for your room, including heart shaped pillows and other fun accessories. Fee: $75 includes materials.
MARCH SESSION:
4 Thursdays: March 1, 8, 15, & 22 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Aprons, oven mitts, pot holders!
Be a “domestic diva” while sewing and
designing pretty and functional items to keep you and your family clean in
the kitchen
Fee: $75 includes materials.
APRIL SESSION:
3 Thursdays April 5, 19 & 26 from 4:00 to 6:00.
Learn basic sewing techniques and design one of a
kind purses, small totes, and spring scarves.
Learn to sew buttons and zippers to
complete your projects.
For students with some prior machine
sewing experience..
Fee: $70 includes materials.

We'll design beaded jewelry, headbands and more!
Saturday, April 21st, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Design American Girl frames or mirrors for your room using unique found
items, gems and sparkles.
Saturday, May 12th, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
April showers bring may flowers! Design beautiful May Day floral crowns for
you and your doll! Yoga for Teens and Adults Thursdays, 7pm - 8pm Relax and restore your mind, body, and spirit. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a mat. $10/class, drop in. Taught by Joanie Fitton
Sitter
Safety Class
From 2:15 - 4:00 p.m. at LYSB This is an intense sitter safety
training course that is appropriate for babysitters, big brothers and sisters,
and children staying at home alone for the first time. This course will
teach a variety of safety issues, basic first aid, fire safety, 911 skills.

check to LYSB. Mother/Daughter Workshop: Let's start talking Spring date tba Please contact LYSB @ 434-7208 to register. Open the lines of communication with your daughter! Designed to give girls a better understanding of the changes that her body will go through during puberty. Topics will include the importance of a positive body image and how to deal with difficult situations. A fun and educational night out for girls in 5th grade and their mothers. Cost is $40 per pair and includes resource materials, goodie bags and a pizza dinner. Betsy groth, APRN, CPNP and Patty Musgrove, LOLMS health teacher facilitate this course. Space is Limited!
