Mother/Daughter Workshop:  Let's start talking!

Thursday, November 6th, 6-8 p.m.

Open the lines of communication with your daughter!  Designed to give girls a better understanding of the changes that her body will go through during puberty.  Topics will include the importance of a positive body image and how to deal with difficult situations.  A fun and educational night out for girls (grades 4 or 5) and their mothers.  Cost is $40 per pair and includes resource materials, goodie bags and a pizza dinner.  Please call LSYB to pre-register at 434-7208. Space is limited. 

This program can be scheduled for private groups (girl scouts, etc.)

 

Gingerbread House Workshop

Thursday, December 4th 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Join us for the LYSB family tradition!

Your family will make a gingerbread house to take home.  We supply all the ingredients.  Space is limited, so please call 434-7208 to register today!  Fee is $25 per family.

 

LYSB Holiday Parties 2008

Sunday, December 7th from 5-7 p.m.

This LYSB fundraiser brings together neighbors in Lyme and Old Lyme while supporting the youth of our community with 35 simultaneous parties!  If you are interested in hosting a party, or would like to volunteer on the committee, please call LYSB at 434-7208.

 

1-2-3 Magic:  Effective Discipline for Parents

Three Thursdays: January 8, 15 & 22, 2009- 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Fee: $30/family

During this three part workshop series you will learn:

· How to discipline without arguing, yelling or spanking

· How to control obnoxious behavior

· How to handle the 6 kinds of testing and manipulation

· 5 tactics for encouraging good behavior

· What to do about bedtime, messy rooms, lying, chores

· Homework, practicing and more

· How to strengthen your relationship with your child

 

Surviving your Adolescents:

How to Manage and Let Go of your 13-18 Year Olds

as they push towards independence. Or, if you sense there is trouble, there are times when you must take charge.  This workshop will give parents a step-by-step approach that will help end the hassles and offer concrete solutions.  In the Surviving Your Adolescents workshop, you will learn:
