Mother Daughter Workshop:
Beyond the Birds and the Bees…
Wednesday,
September 7, 6:00-8:30 pm
Join us at LYSB for a fun, informational evening
designed to give girls a better understanding of the physical, emotional and
social implications of sexual activity, and give moms an opportunity to have
this important discussion.
Mothers and daughters will participate in activities
to:
• highlight the influence of the media on
attitudes…
• help clarify values regarding sexual
activity (what do I think is ok, and what is not ok for me to do?)…
• emphasize the immense responsibility
associated with being sexually active. (how does a pregnancy occur
and what are STD’s?)…
• provide girls with the information they need
to make the best choices for themselves…
This program is for girls in 8th & 9th
grade and their mothers.
Cost is $40 per pair and includes resource materials
and a pizza dinner.
Patty Cournoyer, a health educator facilitates this
